GRANT IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS Kickstart Your Vision with a £3,000 Start-Up Grant: Are you ready to transform your business idea into reality? The Enterprise Seed Fund 25 – our start up grant for just started or about to start businesses – is open for applications. This is a popular grant and is awarded on a first come first serve basis, so do get in touch to register your interest and find out if your business is eligible.

Maximising Your Investment: We understand the financial challenges of starting a business. That’s why our grants cover 50% of start-up costs up to a maximum £3,000 award. This means you can invest up to £6,000 in start-up costs to unlock the full grant potential to maximise your resources. Please note approval must be obtained before purchasing any items in relation to this grant.

What It Can Fund: This grant supports capital and revenue investments associated with starting up your business – examples include; equipment purchases, tools, digital technology, uniforms, initial shop or workshop fitting, website, marketing materials and promotional items . For clarification on eligible items, please contact us. Please note that stock and running costs are not eligible.

Who Can Apply: Start-ups and very early-stage trading businesses that are based in the Dumfries and Galloway Region. This means you will either:

  • Have registered as self-employed for the first time (sole trader or partnership) or started a new limited company within the last 24 months.
  • Be intending to register for self-employment or set up a new limited company within the next 3 months, you can apply before you start trading.

What do I need to submit to apply:

  • A fully completed application form
  • A business bank account statement showing sort code, account number and business address (or personal account used for business)
  • A Business Plan and 12 months simple cash flow (Your Business Gateway Advisor can support with this)
  • Proof of your UTR code from HMRC, Company Registration or partnership
  • Valid photo identification (driving licence or passport)
  • Proof of your residential address (council tax bill)
  • For businesses with premises; the Non-Domestic Rates reference or a copy of the lease
  • Supplier quotes for your intended purchases
